Richard Henry Bamberg

Hilton Head Island, SC. Richard H. Bamberg JD, aged 84, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at Preston Health Center, on Hilton Head Island, SC.

Richard was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and made his home in Westwood, MA. In high school, Richard excelled at track and field and football. He served in the Navy in World War II as a Pharmacist’s Mate in both theaters. He graduated from Northeast University Law School and practiced law until his retirement in 1986 when he and his wife, Margaret, moved to Hilton Head Island. He enjoyed golf and collecting logo golf balls approx. 14, 000 remain and was an avid reader.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Margaret, and his son, Barry Bamberg, and daughter, Cynthia B. McCormick. He is survived by his grandsons, Michael and Christopher McCormick, son-in-law Steve McCormick, all of Savannah, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, June 15, 2007, in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
